PROVINCE-WIDE

Anorexia and Bulimia Québec (ANEB) is a non-profit organisation that guarantees free, immediate and specialised help to people with an eating disorder and to their loved ones.

CEDEC – Youth Entrepreneurship helps communities achieve lasting economic success by identifying and leveraging their strongest opportunities for growth and investment. CEDEC’s Youth Start-Up Workshops are hands-on, engaging youth in discovering their entrepreneurial qualities and developing soft skills, such as problem solving, planning, leadership and communication. Participants explore their business ideas and learn how to access tools and support to develop their project or business.

Centre de prévention du suicide de Québec is is a non-profit community organisation that provides professional, specialised services to promote prevention and intervention for suicidal persons, those close to them and suicide-bereaved persons. In addition, the CPSQ provides training tailored to the needs of those interested in learning more about this issue.

Crime Victims Assistance Centres (CAVAC) offer front-line services to any crime victim or witness. Help from CAVACs is available whether the perpetrator of the crime has been identified, apprehended, prosecuted or convicted.

Drugs: Help and Referral (DHR) provides support, information and referrals to anyone worried about their use of drugs, alcohol and/or medication, as well as, to their loved ones. Their counsellors will listen attentively and empathically in order to offer immediate support.

English Language Arts Network (ELAN) is a not-for-profit organisation that connects, supports, and creates opportunities for Québec’s English-speaking artists and arts communities. ELAN members are individuals and organisations from a wide array of artistic disciplines, cultural and geographic backgrounds, and linguistic and cultural communities. Together this network reflects an evolving Québec identity and celebrates the province’s cultural, artistic, and social diversity.

Foster a Child to Excel in Society - F.A.C.E.S. Inc. is a not-for-profit organisation devoted to helping less fortunate children and young adults achieve self-sufficiency and avoid many of the pitfalls for which they are at risk. Its mission is to inspire and empower these children to make informed choices to improve their lives through educational, informative and hands-on programs.

Gambling: Help and Referral is a 24/7 specialised helpline offering bilingual, free, anonymous and confidential help and referrals to anyone worried about their gambling, gaming, or internet use.

Hope for Wellness is a 24/7 helpline available to all Indigenous people across Canada. Experienced and culturally competent counsellors are reachable by telephone and online chat.

Info-Santé/Info-Social 811 is a free and confidential telephone consultation service available 24/7 for anyone in Québec. You can call 811 to reach a psychosocial worker quickly if you have a psychosocial problem, or are in need of non-urgent health advice (if you require urgent help, please call 911 instead).

Interligne is a front-line centre for help and information for people affected by sexual diversity and gender diversity. Through its 24-hour service, Interligne provides support to LGBTQ+ people, their loved ones and community, school, health and social service staff. It also promotes a greater openness of society towards the realities of LGBTQ+ people.

LEARN Québec (LEARN) is a non-profit educational organisation with a mandate to serve the English-speaking community of Québec. LEARN accomplishes this by offering a wide range of resources and services through our Pedagogical Services, Provincial Resource Team and Virtual Campus Services. These services and resources include elementary and secondary level teaching tools and content; professional learning; community, school and parental support; support to the 85 schools participating in the Community Learning Centre Initiative (CLCs) as well as a full range of online services available to students through the LEARN Virtual Campus. LEARN offers all students who are eligible to attend English schools in Québec supplemental and complementary educational services and learning resources to support staying in school and contribute to academic success.

Québec 4-H is a community based organisation, which is dedicated to developing life skills such as leadership, cooperation, responsibility and independence for the English-speaking rural youth of Québec through achievement and skill development.

Québec Community Newspapers Association is dedicated to the professional and economic development of English community newspapers and their enterprises serving minority communities in Québec.

Quebec Writers’ Federation (QWF) is a registered charity dedicated to promoting English-language literature in Québec. QWF helps writers develop their skills, capitalise on publishing opportunities, and gain recognition for their work through its annual book awards. Each year it offers approximately 30 writers' workshops, a professional writing mentorship program, a community writing program for at-risk adolescents, a monthly spoken word cabaret, and many other programs. QWF welcomes all who are interested in writing, from students to internationally established authors.

Quebec Drama Federation (QDF) is an arts service organisation dedicated to supporting, representing, and lobbying on behalf of English-language theatre in Québec. Through community-focused initiatives, both in-person and digital, QDF strives to ensure the continued growth and enrichment of sustainable artistic practices and ecologies for English language theatre arts in the province.

Relief offers individuals of all ages dealing with anxiety, depression, or bipolarity self-management workshops and support group sessions. Workshops are offered all across Québec in both English or French.

Réseau des SADC+CAE develops projects that encourage youth to stay or to return to live in their region. In addition to financing and support for young entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 39, SADCs and CAEs undertake different initiatives to encourage youth to go into business. They also offer jobs and internships in their fields of study.

Sexual Violence Helpline is an anonymous, confidential service for victims of sexual violence and those who want to help them. Telephone counsellors offer callers a safe, respectful environment that is free from all judgement.

SOS Domestic Violence is a non-profit organisation whose mission is to help ensure the safety of victims of intimate partner violence (IPV) and that of their children throughout Québec, by offering free, bilingual, anonymous and confidential referral services. Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, this organisation can provide direct access to information, support or shelter.

Tel-Jeunes is a confidential space for people 20 years and under who are looking for non-judgmental support, information, referrals or resources of any kind.

Trans Lifeline is a non-profit organisation offering direct emotional and financial support to trans people in crisis⁠—for the trans community, by the trans community. Call this peer support phone service if you need someone trans to talk to, even if you’re not in crisis or if you’re not sure you’re trans.

We Matter is an Indigenous youth-led and national organisation dedicated to Indigenous youth support, hope and life promotion. It offers a variety of resources for Indigenous youth, as well as an Advocacy and Awareness Guide for service providers and the community at large.

Youth Employment Services (YES Montreal), a not-for-profit organisation that enriches the community by providing English-language support services to help Quebecers find employment and start and grow businesses. This organisation’s passion is to help people in the community reach their potential. It is focused on helping individuals develop a personal career or business strategy and giving them the skills and confidence to execute.

MONTRÉAL

African Canadian Development and Prevention Network provides leadership on topics of access to health and social services for members of the English-speaking Black community in Montréal. Support for Black English-speaking families, whose children are being educated in the Francophone school system.

AMI-Quebec is a non-profit organisation that helps families manage the effects of mental illness through support, education, guidance, and advocacy. It offers free workshops, support groups and resources both in person in Montréal, and online for all Québec residents.


Atwater Library specialises in English-language educational and cultural programs for people throughout the region of Greater Montréal. Activities of particular interest to young adults include the English-language lending library, Atwater Poetry Project poetry readings, creative digital media projects, and exhibitions of art and history. Many students take part in the Library's volunteer program and gain practical work experience.

BGC Dawson is a non-profit organisation that serves the English-speaking community of Verdun, including youth social, recreational and educational programs.

Black Healing Centre is a safe space for people in the Black community that offers free art therapy sessions for youth, as well as collective care circles in which Black men and women can take part in restorative and healing discussions.

Black Mental Health Connections Montreal (BMHCM) focuses on supporting the mental health and well-being of the Black English-speaking community in Montréal. BMHCM offers mental health resources and therapy as well as programs for Black youth to get involved in the community.

C.A.R.E. Jeunesse is a non-profit organisation that offers services and resources for youth aging out of care.

Canadian Mental Health Association - Filiale de Montréal provides advocacy and resources to help prevent mental health problems and illnesses, as well as supporting recovery and resilience.

Centre for Dreams and Hopes offers therapeutic and recreational programs in support of children and adults with intellectual and/or physical disabilities.

Center For Gender Advocacy is an independent, student-funded, Concordia University organisation, that promotes gender equality and empowerment particularly as it relates to marginalised communities. It achieves its mandate by facilitating programs and campaigns; by providing resources, services, and advocacy.

Clinique Juridique de Saint-Michel (CJSM) improves access to justice by:
(1) offering legal information/consultations to people in need by law students under the supervision of members of the Bar;
(2) contributing to the development of the Saint-Michel district and the well-being of the community;
(3) promoting education by offering training and presentations on various subjects related to the rights and obligations of citizens;
(4) contributing to the education of law students and accompanying them in their practical learning of the law.
CJSM also fights against racial profiling, notably by offering legal support to victims.

Collective Community Services (CCS) offered a variety of youth programs, extra-curricular activities, community leadership programs, and summer camps for young people up to the age of 18. Now closed, CCS sought to improve the quality of life of individuals by significantly reducing isolation and effectively supporting those living in poverty, primarily within the English-speaking community of Montréal.

Dans La Rue provides help and shelter for at-risk and homeless youth should you need a place to sleep, eat, or someone to talk to.

DESTA, located in the heart of the historical English-speaking, Black community in Little Burgundy, Montréal, supports black youth aged 18 to 35 in reaching their educational, employability, and entrepreneurial goals through a holistic and individualised approach.

English Language Arts Network (ELAN) connects, supports, and creates opportunities for Québec’s English-speaking artists and arts communities. They offer Art Education programs, for students and Teaching Artists alike, in support of youth mental health.

English Montréal School Board (EMSB) is the largest English public school board in Québec with a youth and adult sector population of more than 44,000 students. The network consists of 35 elementary, 16 secondary, eight alternative and seven social affairs schools, as well as 10 adult and vocational centres. The EMSB is very proud to boast one of the strongest success rates of any public school board in Québec.

Family Resource Centre offers a variety of services to enhance the lives of English-speaking youth (ages 6-25) who have behavioural problems due to mental health issues and academic difficulties through Social Skills and Study Skills development programs. It also supports English-speaking: (1) families by offering counselling, referral services and parental support groups and (2) professionals through skill developmental programming presently not within the regular curriculum, educational strategies and community services.

Head & Hands offers free counselling and tutoring for youth ages 12-25, a drop-in centre for teens (ages 12-17), a young parent program, as well as a food pantry, legal services, and street work.

Interligne is a front-line organisation that offers a 24-hour service. Through its listening, intervention and awareness services, it contributes to the well-being of people concerned with sexual diversity and gender plurality. It provides support to LGBTQ+ people and their loved ones.

Institute for Research and Education on Race Relations (IRERR) is a non-profit organisation with the mandate to promote scientific research, training, and education on race relations, equity, diversity and civil rights in Canada. It also supports members of racialised and ethnocultural minorities and aboriginal communities in their pursuit of educational and professional excellence.

Jeunesse Lambda regularly hosts socialisation, discussion, education, and skill-building nights for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth ages 14-30. It also offers active listening sessions with an inclusive and affirmative perspective. It also regularly hosts free inclusive haircut days, offers financial assistance (for name and gender changes, hormone therapy, etc.), and mental health support with professionals.

LGBT Family Coalition is a community rights organisation that advocates for the social and legal recognition of families that come under the umbrella of sexual and gender diversity. They defend rights, raise awareness, and provide services such as workshops.

LGBTQ Youth Centre has a series of programs that cater to different LGBTQ2+ demographics (youth, adults, seniors) within the West Island community. It provides them a safe space to explore their sexual and gender identities and to socialise and foster inclusiveness. It also works towards reducing prejudice and bullying towards the LGBTQ2+ community.

LOVE aims to support youth in various aspects, including mental health. It offers programs focusing on educating youth and community events in order to encourage empowerment and self-discovery.

Montréal en Action is an organisation that mobilises citizens around positive change while focusing on promoting inclusion, diversity, and equality across municipal sectors in the City of Montréal.

Montreal Therapy Centre offers a wide range of counselling services for people of all ages–from art and drama therapy–to therapy for families, teens and couples. Costs for services are assessed on an income-based sliding-scale.

Native Friendship Circle of Montreal Inc. (NFCM) provides health & social services, legal orientation/information, education, training, and employment referral for the urban Indigenous population migrating to or through Montréal, including those from across Québec, Canada, and the Americas.

On Our Own (O3) is a non-profit that offers support services and transitional housing to young, vulnerable parents and their children.

PME MTL provides a list of grants administered by PME MTL available to young entrepreneurs. The financing offered is intended to support start-ups and growing companies and help maintain jobs in Montréal.

Pro Montreal Entrepreneurs Fund helps start-up businesses that have been operating in Montréal for less than two years. You could get a loan of up to $50,000, offered at a business prime rate and repayable over 5 years. It is available to members of the Jewish community between the ages of 18 and 40.

Project 10 promotes the personal, social, sexual, and mental well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, two-spirit, intersex and questioning (2LGBTQ+) youth ages 14-25.

Québec Band Association provides a creative outlet for young musicians who want to pursue a high level of musical performance.

Québec Tech propels towards success the most promising entrepreneurs through grants, access to a high-level business network and the expertise of experienced business volunteers. It awards over $700,000 in grants each year, without taking any participation. It also offers young entrepreneurs personalised à la carte services and opens the Montréal inc. doors to them thanks to its vast network of more than 450 business volunteers.

RÉZO is a Montréal-based non-profit community organisation that has been working since 1991 with gay, bisexual and men who have sex with men (MSM), both cis and trans. It offers a variety of services that help answer the questions individuals might have about their sexual lives, whether it's about their preferences or their bodies. In addition to offering screening clinics, it has counsellors who guide through the various STI prevention tools and to help with HIV diagnosis.

Rock Camp Montreal is an organisation that holds a week-long summer camp that fosters community building and provides mentorship and leadership opportunities for girls, non binary, trans and gender non-conforming youth. It fosters the promotion of self-esteem, skill-building and critical thinking for these youths through collaborative music composition and performance.

Santé Montréal Crisis Centres provides 24/7 assistance to individuals in a state of psychosocial distress and to their loved ones. The Centre is run by professionals such as social workers, psychoeducators, delinquency counsellors and psychologists.

Sexual Assault Centre Of McGill Student Society (SACOMSS) is a volunteer-run organisation that supports survivors of sexual assault and their allies through Drop-In and Line (DIAL)Support GroupsAdvocacy, and Outreach. They also offer sexual assault sensitivity training to McGill and Montréal groups.

Street Pact is a community organisation that works with youth and adults who are encountering difficulties. Their services are offered for free, confidentially, and 24 hours a day, including weekends.

Suicide Action Montréal (SAM) helps prevent suicides by providing direct support to those who are lonely, depressed, and contemplating suicide. It also assists individuals who are left behind by suicide (family, friends, support workers and other professionals involved).

Sun Youth Organization is a registered charity and a non-profit organisation that provides individuals and families in need a range of emergency services that ensure their basic needs such as food, clothing, medical, financial, and other material assistance. It also contributes actively to crime prevention and promotes physical, social, and intellectual development of the youth through education, sports, and recreation.

The Suburban is the largest English-language weekly newspaper in Québec.

Union for Gender Empowerment is a Referral Service of the Students’ Society of McGill University (SSMU). However, it also opens its doors to any person who identifies with its anti-oppressive, feminist, and trans-positive principles, regardless of gender identity. It provides resources, educational opportunities, and a centre for advocacy.

Vent Over Tea is a non-profit organisation offering free active listening service to anyone, both in-person and online.

West Island Blog is an extensive community blog that covers local news, community groups, and activities. Contains editorials and an extensive lifestyle section as well.

Westmount Independent is an independent, Westmount-owned, weekly newspaper distributed free through Canada Post.

Young Chamber of Commerce and Industry – St-Laurent and Mont-Royal (JCSSL-MR) unites its members, informs them, and defends their interests. It helps foster the development of young business leaders by supporting their businesses and providing them with opportunities. The JCSSL-MR regularly holds events where their members can network and forge new working relationships.  


Canadian Forces Moral and Welfare Services (CFMWS) exists in many places across Canada, including Estrie. It offers a variety of mental health workshops, programs and services for free for military personnel, veterans and their families.

CIUSSS de l’Estrie is an integrated university health and social services centre (CIUSSS) that serves as a point of reference in case of health or psychosocial problems. Receive appropriate services or be directed to another resource of the territorial services network.

Mental Health Estrie is a non-profit community organisation committed to helping English-speaking families of Estrie and surrounding area to manage the impact of mental illness. It provides support, information and education to family and friends, including individuals with a lived experience of mental illness.

Phelps Helps offers uniquely designed educational programming to increase youth engagement and ensure youth in rural communities have the support system needed to graduate from high school and realise future career and educational goals.

Québec Anglophone Heritage Network (QAHN) aims to promote a greater understanding of the history of Québec’s English-speaking communities. Membership is open to any organisation or individual, regardless of language or cultural affiliation, with an interest in the history, heritage and culture of Québec’s English-speaking communities. Its youth-oriented activities include, among others, an annual "Heritage Photo Contest" for high school students and internships that include contributing to its quarterly print magazine Québec Heritage News, and its 5 online heritage magazines.

The Sherbrooke Record is a local newspaper serving Sherbrooke and the Eastern Townships since 1897. In addition to news stories, The Record also covers local entertainment and community events. 

Townshippers’ Association is a non-profit, non-partisan community organisation focused on promoting and supporting the interests of the English-speaking minority community in the Eastern Townships region of Québec.

ESTRIE

Aggression Estrie - Centre d’aide et de lutte contre les agressions à caractère sexuel (CALACS) is a community organisation for women and girls (12+), who are victims of sexual violence, that offers individual counseling, group counseling, and a support line.

Brome County News is an offshoot of The Sherbrooke Record that provides news and community stories for the Brome County region.

AGAPE is a non-profit, charitable organisation that supports underprivileged English-speaking and multicultural people of Laval by offering a wide variety of services that promote and improve mental and physical well-being. It also initiates and promotes activities that ensure the vitality of Laval’s English-speaking community.

CAFGRAF offers a wide variety of free services including mental health support groups and individual interventions for ages 8 to 35.

The English Community Association of Lanaudière (ECOL) is a non-profit organisation supporting the English-speaking community of Lanaudière. They ensure access to services in English and offer English services themselves such as workshops for children 0-5 and their families, cultural and heritage activities, wellness activities, and more.


MONTÉRÉGIE

AMI-Quebec South Shore Support Group is free and open for family and friends of persons living with mental illness. This support group meets in-person every Wednesday from 6:30-8 pm at 91 Bd Churchill, Greenfield Park, QC J4V 2M1. No registration is required.

Assistance and Referral Centre (ARC) is a non-profit organisation that ensures accessibility to English services on the South Shore, including employment services and various workshops

Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) offers a variety of mental health workshops, programs and services for free for military personnel, veterans and their families.

Centre d’aide aux entreprises (CAE) offers a program for women, immigrants, and youth ages 18-39. It provides loans to existing businesses in the Granby area.

CLSC Samuel-de-Champlain is assigned to provide English-Language mental health services in the South Shore area. Clients can call the psychosocial intake department, or show up in person. 

Montérégie East Partnership for the English-Speaking Community (MEPEC) is a non-profit organisation serving the English-speaking community of Montérégie East. It offers referrals, translation and employment services, and early childhood and family services.

New Frontiers School Board provides quality, bilingual educational services to the youth and adults of Southwestern Québec.

Our Harbour is a caring, cost-effective long-term housing program on Montreal's South Shore for people of diverse backgrounds living with mental illness. It offers life-management support, referrals, and individual assistance with integrating into society.

South Shore Community Partners Network (SSCPN) is a volunteer-based non-profit corporation. Its objective is to build a sense of community among the Montréal South Shore English-speaking community by helping to encourage awareness of various activities, programs, promote and support services. It links youth up with community activities where they can either volunteer with or do their training in English on the South Shore. It also works with youth to promote their events among other youth.


MAURICIE

Centre for Access to Services in English (CASE) is a non-profit organisation serving Mauricie’s English-speaking community by making mental health services accessible to English-speakers. They provide referrals, help with healthcare system navigation, and mental health workshops and activities.


OUTAOUAIS

Aylmer Bulletin serves the rapidly growing and bilingual Aylmer sector of Gatineau, Québec, across from Ottawa. The Bulletin is an independently owned award-winning newspaper and website devoted to presenting the most relevant, factual, and balanced local news and opinion, as well as columns and letters, to its community. The Bulletin’s mission statement is “Vivre en harmonie / Living in Harmony.” This reflects the reality in Aylmer where two heritages have created a growing and vibrant community.

Aylmer Mental Health Clinic is a clinic dedicated to providing effective, empathic and confidential mental health services in English and French. Services it provides are psycho-assessments, psychotherapy and counselling.

Carrefour jeunesse emploi de l’Outaouais is a non-profit that offers job search services, career counselling, and other related help to youth aged 16-35 in the Outaouais region. Services are available in English and French.

Connexions Resource Centre is a not-for-profit community organisation whose mission is to serve and promote the health, well-being and vitality of the English-speaking population of the Outaouais.

Pontiac Community Players is a community-based theatre and music company based in Pontiac County.

Quyon Family Centre is a non-profit that provides a number of activities for family members of all ages. 

Regional Association of West Quebecers (RAWQ), first established in 1982, is a not-for-profit association dedicated to serving and supporting the minority English-speaking community (ESC) in the Outaouais. It plays a significant role in initiatives that support the ESC in the Outaouais by means of advocacy, networking, information and programs for youth, seniors and more.

The Equity was founded in 1883 by B.T. Smith and J.A. Cowen and first published in Bryson and then in Shawville in the early 1900s. It continues to serve Pontiac with balanced reporting, fine photos and splendid advertising, every week.

The Low Down, a local paper that has been serving the Gatineau Hills since 1973, covers local news, contains an opinion section, as well as classifieds. 

The Pontiac Journal is an independent newspaper that publishes in English and French every 2 weeks. It covers stories in the communities west of Gatineau, along the Ottawa River, and also contains a classified section and events information.

The West Québec Post is Outaouais' English-language weekly newspaper.

Western Québec Literacy Council is to help English-speaking adults, families and youth improve their reading, writing, listening, speaking, numeracy and other life skills through programs adapted to the needs of the individual.

Western Québec School Board groups 30 schools and centres that provide English-language education to eligible students over an immense and diverse territory which covers the Outaouais, Pontiac and Abitibi-Témiscamingue regions. Cultural differences are valued and celebrated within our student population through French-Immersion programs, First Nations events and student initiatives and activities.

100 Mile Arts Network connects artists, venues, communities, and event organisers throughout the Outaouais. It also provides skills training for event planning, management and marketing.


CAPITALE-NATIONALE

Regional Development Network (RDN) is a network of organisations working together for the socio-economic development of English-speaking communities in Québec. More specifically, RDN’s purpose is for networking, collaboration, and representation to support these individual organisations in the work they endeavour to carry out.

The Mégantic English-speaking Community Development Corporation (MCDC) promotes the health and well-being of the English-speaking community of Chaudière-Appalaches and the MRC de l'Érable sub-region. It has been actively supporting and empowering the English-speaking community for the past 20 years. MCDC has also been establishing and fostering partnerships with community groups, provincial networks, government stakeholders and institutions in English and French.

Voice of English-speaking Québec (VEQ), a non-profit organisation that currently has over 3200 members, has played a vital part in the preservation and development of community life for the English-speaking community for over three decades. Currently, VEQ has active partnerships with over 60 community organisations, institutions, and groups in the area. Furthermore, it helps individuals participate in community life in the Québec City region, in both French and English. VEQ welcomes newcomers, sponsors community celebrations, researches needs, informs citizens, and provides a framework for effective action on behalf of English-speaking people and institutions.

Wellness Centre (WE) at Jeffery Hale promotes the personal and shared well-being of English speakers in the Québec City region by offering a range of healthy living programs.


ABITIBI-TÉMISCAMINGUE

Neighbours: Regional Association of Rouyn-Noranda is a community organisation incorporated in 2003 with the mandate to promote and protect the rights of the Anglophone Population of Rouyn-Noranda.


LAURENTIDES

Main Street is the only English-language newspaper in the Laurentians. Though the paper is published monthly, the website contains links to local entertainment and activities, businesses and services, as well as resources in English such as health care and education. 

4Korners is a community organisation dedicated to assisting people of the Laurentians to access information, resources and services in English. Its website offers job-finding resources as well as information about internships in the Laurentians. Its activities include legal workshops on a variety of topics, Open Mic in Deux-Montagnes and activities for young families.


GASPÉSIE-ÎLES-DE-LA-MADELEINE

Committee for Anglophone Social Action (CASA), the Committee for Anglophone Social Action, is a non-profit community organisation dedicated to serving the English-speaking population of the Gaspé Coast by representing the community’s interests and designing and delivering programs that respond to its needs.

Council for Anglophone Magdalen Islanders (CAMI) has been working in the English-speaking community of the Magdalen Islands since 1987. A non-profit organisation, CAMI is an organisation of the community for the community, promoting the rights of Anglophone Magdalen Islanders. CAMI ensures that English-speakers benefit from the various available programs across an array of sectors and that English-speakers benefit from these programs in their own language. Health, education, language, culture and heritage are all part of CAMI's mandate, a mandate that will continue to guide the organisation throughout the years to come.

Vision Gaspé-Percé Now is a non-profit community organisation whose mandate is to ensure that services are provided for our community in the language we use and to enhance the quality of life for all English-speaking Gaspesians. We accomplish this by making our presence in the community known, by preserving our heritage, and by promoting the unique characteristics we have to offer our Francophone and Aboriginal neighbours. Vision’s mandate targets key resources in health and social services, education, and community development and we support other organisations and committees that strive to accomplish the same mandate. Vision labours to improve the lives of our community by reaching out to our senior, student, and family populations.

BAS-SAINT-LAURENT

CISSS du Bas-Saint-Laurent is an integrated health and social services centre that serves as a point of reference in case of health or psychosocial problems. Receive appropriate services or be directed to another resource of the territorial services network.

Heritage Lower Saint Lawrence (HLSL)’s mission is to mobilise people and resources to support the vitality of the English-speaking community of the region, foster the well-being of all its members, and promote its interests. It offers support in accessing health & social services and credible health & well-being information in English, as well as navigating the health system. HLSL also organises events and activities that are presented throughout the region.



NORD-DU-QUÉBEC

Cree First Nation of Waswanipi Wellness Centre targets two main national objectives, which are to fight child poverty and to promote the integration of low-income families with children into the job market. 

Inuulitsivik Health Centre provides services normally offered by CLSCs (local community service centres), CPEJs (child- and youth-protection centres), CHs (acute-care hospital centres), CHSLDs (extended-care residential hospital centres) and CRJDAs (rehabilitation centres for youths with adjustment difficulties). Services are available to all community members, at any time and in their own communities whenever possible.

The Nation magazine has been the sole and most-trusted provider of Cree and James Bay-related print content in northern Québec and Ontario for over 20 years. The Nation is the only independent Aboriginal news publication in the area since 1993. The Nation’s well-rounded and award-winning coverage serves as the link between our exclusive and loyal readership of over 105 000, and the entrepreneurs, educational institutions, corporations and other entities participating in the social and economic development in James Bay, as well as those who would like to become a player in the North.

CÔTE-NORD

Coasters Association Inc. develops knowledge of the needs and expectations of English-speakers in the MRC, Gulf du St. Laurent, and acts in partnership with community leaders, organisations and stakeholders to design and deliver community strategies, programs and services.

North Shore Community Association (NSCA) is mandated to represent and serve the English-language minority communities in Québec’s North Shore, a constituent territory composed of five MRCs (municipalités régionales de comté – regional county municipality). These five MRCs are: Caniapiscau, Sept-Rivieres, Haute Côte-Nord, Manicouagan, and Minganie. This non-profit regional organisation aims to empower residents and to strengthen the community across the region by working to make information and resources available, by facilitating community initiatives, by encouraging and improving communication, by promoting access to services, by developing partnerships and by increasing the visibility of the English -speaking community.


SAGUENAY—LAC-ST-JEAN

Canadian Mental Health Association - Filiale du Saguenay provides advocacy and resources to help prevent mental health problems and illnesses, as well as support with recovery and resilience.

CANADA-WIDE

Futurpreneur Canada is a non-profit that provides financing, mentoring, and support tools to aspiring business owners ages 18-39. Its internationally recognised mentoring program matches young entrepreneurs with business experts from a network of more than 2,400 volunteer mentors.

Hope for Wellness Helpline is free and available to all Indigenous people across Canada. Experienced and culturally competent counsellors are reachable by telephone and online ‘chat’ 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They offer their services in Cree, Ojibway, Inuktitut, English, and French.

Kids Help Phone is the only free bilingual on-line counselling service for youth ages 5 to 20 in Canada. Services are free, anonymous and lead by professionals 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Canada Summer Jobs offers programs by the federal government where employers hire students for the summer months. Use the search engine to find a job near your community. 

Emploi Québec provides a convenient list of all of the youth-oriented services offered by Emploi Québec in one place. Programs include internships, job shadowing, services for young parents, and the opportunity to start your own business. 

Aire ouverte is a centre for young people aged 12 to 25 where a range of health and wellness services are offered under the same roof. Professionals, such as a nurse or a social worker, are on hand to welcome them, listen to them and help them. Services at Aire ouverte centre are free. Time slots are available with or without an appointment and services are available days, evenings and weekends on a flexible schedule and without a waiting list. However, to find the service point nearest you, you need to switch the site to French.

Fonds d’investissement pour la relève agricole: If you are an agricultural entrepreneur between ages 18 and 39 or on your way to becoming one, you could be eligible to receive assistance from FIRA.

Government of Canada – Young Canadians contains a large number of links relating to job opportunities, services, information, and education resources specifically for youth. It features information on health, cultural programs, justice, and financial management. 

La financière agricole – Financial Support for Aspiring Farmers helps young producers establish themselves on an existing farm or start a new business. It is available to applicants between the ages of 18 and 40.


Organisation that aims to meet the needs of Canada's French-speaking youth in minority communities

La Fédération de la jeunesse canadienne-française (FJCF) coordinates activities and initiatives, in collaboration with its association members in nine provinces and two territories, to meet the needs of Canada's French-speaking youth in minority communities. The FJCF has been organising national and international projects that allow French-speaking youth to open their horizons to the world in a French-speaking environment.
