Regional Outreach Committee
The Regional Outreach Committee (ROC) aims at creating a sense of belonging across Québec.
The ROC develops Y4Y’S local chapters in tandem with the Community Liaisons and Youth Cultural Ambassadors. The Committee collaborates with other youth organisations, coordinates chapter activities, and meets with community members across the province.
One element of Y4Y’s mandate is to create a network of active, engaged English-speaking youth across the province. The ROC connects youth across distances, and supports them in making their voices heard on issues affecting them and their peers in any given region of the province through projects and activities.

Joanna Kanga
Co-chair of the ROC & member of the Y4Y’s Board of Directors
Joanna holds a bachelor’s in political science and double minor in Economics and International Development from McGill University. Her public service and community involvement started early as a political volunteer and constituency youth council member. She is a former outreach and event coordinator of Black Girls Gather, an initiative she had recently launched with a group of dynamic Black women, in partnership with the West Island Black Community Association, designed to be a safe space for Montréal Black girls' empowerment through literature. Her desire to get involved with Y4Y comes from a passion for public service and a desire as a bilingual francophone to strengthen the bridge between the English and French speaking communities across Québec.
Isabella Giosi
Volunteer Coordinator & ROC member
Isabella is currently a student at Concordia University in the Early Childhood Elementary Education program. With aspirations of becoming a teacher, Isabella has always taken an interest in helping others and joining non-profit and governmental organisations. Her previous experiences include her presidency of the Vanier College Student Association as well as being a volunteer here at Y4Y. In her spare time, Isabella enjoys spending time with her big Italian family, playing soccer and baking. She hopes to help the community in any way she can here at Y4Y.
Charlotte Crober
Co-chair of the ROC & member of the Y4Y’s Board of Directors
Originally from rural Southwestern Ontario, Charlotte has a bilingual honours degree in sociology from Glendon College at York University. Having dreamed of being bilingual since her childhood, she moved to Québec to broaden her knowledge and appreciation of the French language and culture. Nonetheless, she cannot deny that English will always be close to her heart. Her passions include cultural exchange, environmental sustainability, music, learning about basically anything, and introducing people to other people.
Victoria Ormiston
Volunteer at Y4Y & ROC member
Victoria is currently a first-year student at Dawson College in the Social Change and Solidarity program. She has been very involved in her community, as she sat on her high school’s student council for 3 years, volunteered at her dance studio and participated in many team sports. Now as a CEGEP student she continues her efforts as an office volunteer for the Dawson Student Union and as a student representative for the Health & Safety Board. In her free time, Victoria loves to choreograph for the Dawson Dance Team and read. These experiences have contributed to helping Victoria not only give back to her community but find people she can truly relate to. They have also motivated her to major in international development, as she hopes to one day be able to use her leadership skills and creativity to help communities all over the world.
Sapphire Allaire
Volunteer at Y4Y & ROC member
As a young professional and eternal student of life, she has spent several years in the field of education and non-profit environments and has a passion for education and redefining conventional boundaries. In a rapidly changing landscape, she believes we are the architects of thriving and connected communities. She continues to pursue studies that she feels will assist her and the community in the overall design of their future.
Emma Doucette
Volunteer at Y4Y & ROC member
Hi! My name is Emma and I use they/she pronouns. I currently live in Québec City but I am originally from Nova Scotia. I enjoy doing photography and I have my own photography page on several social media platforms. I want to make the world a safer place for those in minorities, for LGBTQ+ people, and for those with mental health issues.
Kenneth Clarence
Volunteer at Y4Y & ROC member
Kenneth is a second-year student at Dawson College in the Law, Society, and Justice profile. Driven by a strong commitment to public service, Kenneth has consistently sought ways to contribute to his community. His drive to contribute led him to run for and win the presidency of the Dawson Student Union, as well as being chosen as the Local Youth Ambassador for the Montréal region. In his free time, he volunteers for his borough’s youth council and enjoys watching documentaries. These experiences motivate him to one day secure a position in the government, where he can challenge the status quo and advocate for the marginalised.
