Welcome to the City
Find Your Way
Funded by Canadian Heritage, Welcome to the City (WTTC) aims to assist first-year CÉGEP students to be better equipped to face the challenges of independent living.
The program offers workshops on cooking on a budget, tenant rights in the city, financial literacy, and a variety of other obstacles and anxieties that young people may face when living on their own or with roommates for the first time.
This year, Y4Y partnered with Champlain St-Lambert and Dawson College in order to provide these workshops on the St-Lambert and Dawson campuses for the students who attend those CÉGEPs.
Participants are provided with a handbook which includes a directory of mental health services, some tips on apartment hunting and writing a CV, and some staff choices of budget recipes and cooking tips.
At the end of EACH Welcome to the City workshop, all participants were entered into a raffle to win one of the following prizes:
100$ Grocery Gift Card
Montreal Museum of Fine Arts year-long pass for you and a guest
1 month of free STM Transit
1 month of free BIXI Transit
