Project Aliana
About the Project
Funded by the Secretariat for Relations with English-Speaking Quebecers, Project Aliana was a youth-led, collaborative initiative between Y4Y Québec and youth leaders of Nunavik contributing to the wellbeing of young Indigenous people through civic engagement.

Nigel Adams
I’m from Kangirsujuaq, my accomplishments have to be raising my nieces and nephews with love, patience and getting clean from alcohol. My personal interests have to be singing and playing the guitar
Levina Arngak
I am from Kangiqsujuaq. After graduating high school in 2016, I went to Montreal to learn about Inuit culture at Nunavik Sivunitsavut. I have worked for youth and kids in the past as a youth center animator, Inuktituk teacher and assistant recreation teacher.
Jude Alaku
I’m from salluit, I had recently graduated from Arctic Guides Program and I like to help people do healthy things like cooking homemade food, doing outdoor activities and sports.
Susienna Kudluk
Born and raised in Nunavik, Ungava Bay in a village called Kangirsuk. I work as an animator for the local Youth Centre for youth ages between 5-19 years old and a member of the Iqaluppiit Recreation Committee of Kangirsuk. As a young Inuit woman, i am honoured to be a part of this beautiful project.
Aupaluk Jeannie Qumaaluk
I’m from Kangiqsujuaq, Nunavik. I like working with young people and want to help them as much our elders help us. I am busy working at our local store as an assistant manager but also love working at summer camp with kids and teenagers.
Shelton Nipisar
I’m from Arviat, Nunavut. Fun fact: I’m the only one named Shelton in my hometown. I recently graduated from a unique college program called Nunavut Sivuniksavut. I work as an IQ Research Assistantat the Aqqiumavvik Society. We have been mostly interviewing elders from my hometown about their experience with Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit. I have a personal interest in shamanism.
Victoria Tukkiapik
I’m originally from Quaqtaq but I grew up in Kuujjuaq. I work in a mine as a Laboratory Analyst. I enjoy sewing, crafting, crocheting, hiking, learning, socializing, traveling and taking care of my plants.
Aibillie Idlout
My name is Aibillie Idlout, I am from a rural community called Inukjuak. I am 26 yrs old, I’m a recreation leadership student.
