Project Impact
Pierrefonds Community High School, Montréal
Pierrefonds Community High School (PCHS) is located in the West Island of Montréal, Pierrefonds. The region is boarded by the predominantly English-speaking neighbourhoods of Dollard-des-Ormeaux and Kirkland, as revealed in the 2016 Canadian Census. The school takes pride in its multicultural environment and diverse English-speaking student body by hosting activities to educate the public about different cultures, such as Truth and Reconciliation Day. Pierrefonds also houses Québec’s most famous treats: Poutine, smoked meat sandwiches, and bagels.

“In my region the thing I like best is the numerous parks, churches, and activities available. To me leadership, means being able to show great qualities someone in power would display. It means being able to be depended on because of how strong minded you are. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, cooking, creating jewellery, writing, and going on adventures. And my favourite food is Chicken Alfredo Pasta.”

“What I love about Montréal is that the nature is beautiful and I enjoy the diversity in culture and languages. I believe that leadership is about trust and ensuring everybody is heard and taken into consideration when decisions need to be made. A leader helps guide. Apart from leadership, I enjoy singing and composing my own music. I also love entertainment from literature, poetry, theater, film and dance. Lastly, my favourite food is noodles.”

“I like that we have a lot of diversity where we are. It allows for more education on different religions from multiple perspectives. There are also a lot of amazing nature opportunities here as well. Leadership is being able to lead an activity with people, who are of interest and to be able to educate them on what we are doing. I like learning about crystals and herbs. I also love walking around my neighborhood as a way to get outside. I also love photography. My favourite food is probably Spaghetti with my grandma’s sauce.”

“What I like best about Montréal are some of the old buildings and murals downtown. I love how nice they look and how old they must be and the fact they are still standing. Leadership means being responsible and taking a role where you consider everybody else and work together. My hobbies are either drawing or creating things like making edits. My favourite food is Pasta.”
