You are Here: The Belonging Project - Year 1

Born and raised on the Lower North Shore, Holly always had a fascination with old folk tales, legends, and stories. To learn more stories, Holly left the Lower North Shore to attend Memorial University, Grenfell Campus. She graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, specializing in English Literature with a minor in Folklore. She returned to the Lower North Shore and worked in the Tourism, Heritage, and Culture industry. Holly’s love of storytelling grew stronger and developed a passion for preservation. She wanted to learn new ways to use storytelling and spread its awareness of how important it was for the industry. After moving to Gatineau, Holly found an opportunity at Y4Y to help spread awareness of the rich history that can be found in English speaking communities. She helped youth on the “You Are Here” project and showcased the heritage and culture within the 7 regions involved.
